About Us

Founded in October 1997 by Lou Nash, Measutronics Corporation began with a deep foundation in precision positioning and navigation. Lou’s background as a Navigation Officer aboard a U.S. Navy destroyer and later as a Geodesist with the U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office shaped the company’s technical rigor and mission-driven focus from day one.

What started as a single-employee company providing certified training on Trimble GPSurvey post-processing software and Trimble’s Trimmap RTK solutions quickly evolved. In 2001, recognizing Lou’s marine navigation expertise, Trimble Navigation asked Measutronics to concentrate on marine applications. That partnership established Measutronics as a Trimble Marine dealer serving customers across North America.

Our early work centered on dredge guidance systems powered by Trimble’s HYDROpro software and single-beam bathymetric survey support using HYPACK. At the same time, Measutronics played a role in the early adoption of RTK-based machine guidance. Trimble’s first machine control systems, adapted from marine technology, were deployed in Florida aggregate mines, where dredges and reclamation bulldozers relied on precise positioning to transform submerged and reclaimed landscapes. Marine and machine guidance evolved together, reflecting our ability to bridge environments seamlessly.

As our reputation grew, so did our customer base. Marine contractors, dredging companies, land surveyors, engineers, and multiple districts of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers turned to Measutronics for dependable, field-proven solutions. By 2006, the company had expanded significantly in both personnel and reach. To continue advancing the state of practice, we added multibeam sonar systems to our portfolio, broadening our underwater imaging and hydrographic capabilities.

In 2008, we invested further with our own purpose-built demonstration vessel.

Over time, our partnerships extended beyond commercial marine contractors to include the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, and additional federal agencies. Organizations that demand precision, reliability, and technical excellence.

In 2024, we strengthened our systems integration capabilities by bringing software and computer engineers in-house, enhancing the functionality of our integrated solutions and positioning the company for the next generation of marine technology.

After 28 years of steady growth and industry leadership, Measutronics entered a new chapter in early 2025 through its acquisition by Duncan-Parnell.

Today, Measutronics stands at the intersection of navigation heritage, marine construction expertise, and advanced positioning technology, continuing to support the critical infrastructure built on and beneath the water.
