Measutronics and Trimble at FMCA Conference

Measutronics joined Trimble to host an exhibit at the Florida Marine Contractors Association (FMCA) Conference from Friday, October 12 to Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Westshore Marriot in Tampa, Florida. Shea Griffin, Trimble Marine Regional Sales Manager, teamed up with our Trevor Yocum to give a talk about “Marine Construction Software Implementation” in which they described the advantages in consistency, safety, and efficiency of Trimble Marine Construction (TMC) Software in marine construction applications. Topics covered include setting up avoidance zones to display underwater hazards, optimizing barge moves, clamshell crane and excavator dredging, and pile driving guidance systems.

On display were various marketing materials highlighting features of TMC, as well as a remote-controlled model LEGO® excavator with sensors on it to emulate a real excavator with Trimble guidance. These sensors show the movement of the LEGO® model in real-time within TMC to accurately depict what an operator would experience on-site.
